We are almost finished with our addition and subtraction math menus. Last week we explored many ways to make 11 with cubes, jewels, beans, blocks, number lines, and other counters. We will work on 12 next week. These manipulative activities are so important in understanding how math works. These discoveries are stored in the brain for later use in higher math problems. Then they can visualize what is happening. We have been doing weekly tests, speed games, and flashcards to help memorize the math facts. We are starting little daily math tests next week. Practice these for the math box.
